Margie M. Wright

Margie M. Wright, age 87 of Cobden, died Sunday, April 17, 2022 at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born September 6, 1934 in Pomona, the daughter of Andy and Sarah Anna (Batson) Ellis. She married Wilmouth Warren Wright Sr. on August 12, 1951 in Cobden. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2004. Margie is survived by her children, Janet (Walter) Pentek of St. Simon Island, GA, Leonard Gregory Wright of Salem, Gary (Susan) Wright of Cobden, and Sharon Sweitzer of Cobden; grandchildren, Rodney Gajeske, Cindy Zeinert, DeWayne Gajeske, Wilmouth Warren Wright IV, Chris Wright, Gregory Wright, Sarah Parker, Chad Wright, Shannon Seifert, Eric Jerrell, Valerie Jerrell, and Kelsey Sweitzer; many great-grandchildren, many great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Wanda, Bobby, Larry, and Donna; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Wilmouth Warren "Bud" Wright Jr.; siblings, Jessie, Billy, Kenny, Donnie, Charlie, and Buddy; daughters-in-law, Faye Wright and Sally Wright. Margie attended Christ Community Church in Murphysboro. She was active in the church whenever possible and wanted to make sure that her family knew God. She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She and her husband owned and operated Wrights Auto Service in Cobden for many years. She later worked at Choate Mental Health and the Illinois Youth Center in Murphysboro. Margie so dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Pastor Ray Highfield and Pastor Rick McNeely officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Community Church in Murphysboro. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
