Manuel Mejia Palacios

Manuel Mejia Palacios, age 86 of Cobden, died Friday, May 17, 2024 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was born on March 10, 1938 in Mexico, the son of Andres Mejia and Eliseria Palacios. He married Maria Chairez.

Manuel is survived by his wife, nine children, one brother, many grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

He enjoyed being outside, working in and looking over the fields. He enjoyed growing many vegetables. He also loved planting, cultivating and growing grapes and did so for many years at Von Jakob Winery.

Funeral mass for Manuel Mejia Palacios will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cobden with Father Uriel Salamanca officiating. Interment will follow in the Cobden Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2024 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
