Mrs. Mabel M. Landreth, age 92 of Carbondale, formerly of Cobden, passed peacefully at 11:58 p.m. Saturday, June 17, 2017 in the Integrity Healthcare in Carbondale. She was born in Jonesboro on February 4, 1925, the daughter of Walter and Gertie Rothrock Winn. She married James Dorris Landreth on August 12, 1944 with whom she shared sixty two years of marriage. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2006. Mable was a member of Walnut Grove Methodist Church near Cobden. She served as church janitor for many years. After moving to Carbondale in 2005 Mabel enjoyed attending the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale. She worked alongside her husband on the family farm and enjoyed selling their vegetables at local farmers markets. She also worked many years cleaning homes. Mable enjoyed sewing, singing and cooking. Her wonderful Sunday dinners will never be forgotten. Mabel is survived by her daughter, Marcia Landreth Moore and son in law, Robert Moore of Carbondale; sisters in law, Mary Landreth Winn of Cobden and Deloris Landreth of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews; other relatives; many friends and caregivers. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Dorris Landreth; two sisters, Flossie Winn and Dorothy Eaves; and two brothers, Carl and John Winn. Funeral services for Mrs. Mabel M. Landreth will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Allan Rhein officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Carbondale Choir Fund. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
