Luke Sargent, born on August 16, 1982, in Peoria, Illinois, passed away on January 16, 2025, in his hometown of Jonesboro, Illinois. He was the beloved son of Sue Sargent and John Fouche.

Luke grew up in a large family with four brothers Mathew Fouche, James Sargent, Tim Fouche, John Fouche and three sisters Nicole Gaines, Ashley Fouche and Brittany Fouche. Luke had a bond with his sister Nicole, brother Mathew, mother Sue and his nieces, Aleah, Mya, Madelyn, Jalice and nephew Alijah that shaped his life. He was preceded in death by a brother, Mathew Fouche; maternal grandparents, James and Darlene Sargent and paternal grandmother, Beatrice Fouche.

Luke was a graduate of Shawnee Community College, where he earned an associate's degree. Luke pursued his passions with enthusiasm as an employee of Dollar General in Jonesboro, Illinois. He was known for his love of fishing, a dedicated Yankees fan and cheering for the New York Giants during football season with his best friend Bruce. He enjoyed the nostalgia of 80s music and movies. Luke also had an appreciation for video games and was a fan of Superman and attending Comic Con. Luke enjoyed the hobby of coin collecting, he loved Jeeps and Christmas was his favorite holiday.

Luke's interests brought joy to those who knew him. Creating memories filled with laughter with his family was so important to him. He shared many joyful experiences with his cousins, aunts, uncle and his grandpa Sargent. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, the community who met him at the Dollar General store and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services for Luke Sargent will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Anna Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 11:00 am until the service time at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the funeral home. To honor Luke, those attending are asked to wear their favorite sports jersey or fishing gear. Memorial contributions can be made to Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
