Lucien A. "Andy" Simpson

Mr. Lucien A. "Andy" Simpson, age 70 of Olmstead, died at 9:45 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at his home. He was born June 26, 1943 in Merced, California, the son of LeRoy and Gladys J. Canton Simpson. He married LaVada Pearson on November 4, 2003 in Paducah, KY. Andy is survived by his loving wife, LaVada Simpson of Olmstead; one son, Craig Nathan Simpson of Fredricktown, Mo; one daughter, Christy Terry Bivens of Springfield, IL; LaVada's children, Gina Baggott of Olmstead, Rebecca Johnson of Cobden, and Ray Baggott of Du Quoin; eleven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Marvin LaHaye. Andy was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Cobden. He was a retired Correctional Officer with Illinois Department of Corrections. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. Memorial services for Mr. Lucien A. "Andy" Simpson will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, April 25, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Brother Terry Kern and Rev. Danny Beggs officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour 12:00 noon Friday, April 25, 2014 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
