Loys A. Blackledge, age 97 of Anna, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 in the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was born June 4, 1921 in Risco, MO, the daughter of Tom and Lottie Porter. She married Martin Blackledge in 1970 in Marion, MI. He preceded her in death. Loys is survived by her daughters, Barbara A. Dangbar of Cobden, and Jackie L. (Terry) Prudhome; son, Tomas C. (Betty) Mahan all of Winn, MI; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, David (Kati) Morales, Andrea M. Rodriguez, Jared D (Jennifer) Eagle, Susan R. Garren, Kimberly A. (Perry) Heath, Wendy Schafer, and Tina Roadinger; four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Geneva Edwards; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin Blackledge; son, Charles W. Penny; grandson, Little Tom; brothers, Lloyd Porter, Bill Porter; and one sister, Virgie Cleffman. Loys was a factory worker during WWII. She later went into restaurant work. She worked many years for Machus Bakery (Red Fox) in Birmingham, MI. She was the best at her job. Loys was a member of the Carroll P. Foster Ladies Auxiliary. Loys loved hunting, fishing and bowling. After moving to Cobden, she continued bowling at Anna Bowl and made many life long friends. For the last three years she has resided at River to River in Anna and talked often of how she loved it there and how well she was treated by the staff, especially her friend, Sonya. She will be forever missed and her never ending sense of humor. According to her wishes no services will be held.
