Lorene V. Musgrave Jones

Mrs. Lorene V. Jones, age 91, of Anna, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday, June 27, 2016 in the Chateau Girardeau in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born December 19, 1924 in Anna, the daughter of Willis and Trula (Edmonds) Musgrave. She married Dr. Jean Jones on March 16, 1957. Lorene is survived by her husband, Dr. Jean Jones of Anna; two daughters, Sue (Edward) Wahl of Marion, and Dr. Jean (Dr. Thomas) Diemer of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Ira Musgrave of Springfield, Mo.; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Shirley Stovall; one sister, Wilma Davis and one brother Olie Musgrave. Lorene graduated from Anna-Jonesboro High School in 1943. Earlier in her life she worked at the Florshiem Shoe Factory. After marrying Jean, she worked with him in their optometry practice, where they served thousands of patients from counties near and far. Lorene and Jean continued in business together for forty years. Lorene loved her family and enjoyed cooking for them. She loved watching tennis and basketball. in her retirement she watched NBA games every night she could. She was a woman with a kind and humble heart and cared about helping others. She was a devoted wife and mother. Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene V. Musgrave Jones will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 30, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Paul Sadler officiating. Interment will be in the Casper Cemetery in Anna. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
