Lorene Lingle

Mrs. Lorene Lingle, age 83 of Cobden, died at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2011 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion. She was born in Cobden Illinois, the daughter of Mart and Myrta Beggs Clutts. She married Gerald "Jerry" Lingle on August 18th 1949. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1995.Lorene is survived by one daughter Donna Lingle (Ira Goldberg) of Downers Grove, IL; two sons, Levi Lingle of Cobden, Henry (Diana) Lingle of Cobden; two granddaughters, Nancy Baker of Granger, IN, Deborah (Damon) Woolridge of Cobden; two great grandchildren, Brooke and Brandon Woolridge both of Cobden, one brother, Freddie (Linda) Clutts of Makanda; nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; one brother, Mart Clutts; and twin sisters, Evelene Clark and Alene Clutts. Lorene was a member of the Shiloh Baptist church for many years. She was a charter member of the Bald Knob Cross serving as sectary for 20 years; now known as Friends of the Cross. Lorene retired as a school teacher, teaching in various schools in the area. Her other memberships include the IRTA Teachers Association; Rebekah Lodge; Anna Garden Club; Red Hats Society; Senior Circle and held a charter membership with the Carbondale Farmer's Market.Lorene was passionate about growing flowers and produce on the farm. She sold produce from the farm and at various Farmers Markets. She also entered in several County Fairs. Funeral services for Mrs. Lorene Lingle will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Rev Jim Holderfield officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 until the funeral hour at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Memorial contributions may be made to Friends of the Cross. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
