Lonnie D. Brown

Mr. Lonnie D. Brown, 66, of rural Dongola, died at 6:15 P.M. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. Lonnie was born February 14, 1944 in Chicago, IL, the son of Orvil and Mary Smiddy Brown. He married Joyce A. Sneddon on February 16, 1963 in Jonesboro, Illinois.He is survived by his wife, Joyce Brown of Dongola; 3 children, Gayle (Jeffrey) Miller of Anna, Kim (Matt) Goddard of Dongola, and Kristi (Eugene) Fox of Anna; 3 sisters, Ramona Wright of Anna, Shirley Downey of Jonesboro, and Carylon (Bob) Coryell of Granite City, IL; 3 brothers, Gerald Brown of Anna, Bert (Arlene) Brown of Humboldt, TN, and Rocky (Sandy)Brown of Milan, TN; 8 grandchildren, B.J. and Chad Miller, Lindsey, Wyatt, and Dalton Goddard, and Logan, Dylan, and Treg Fox; Beth Schlenker, who was considered a daughter and sister to the Brown family, and her husband, Rodney and their children, Stephanie and Josh. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia Reynolds; a brother, Robert Brown; and an infant brother, Orvil Dean Brown.Lonnie was a member of the Countryside Christian Church in Vienna. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of Operating Engineers Local #318 for over 26 years. He and Joyce owned and operated the Skate Barn in Anna for 15 years. Funeral services for Mr. Lonnie D. Brown will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, August 30, 2010 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Sunday evening at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorials may be made to the family.
