Lola Elaine Johnson

Lola Elaine Johnson, age 72 of Cobden, died Friday, September 3, 2021 in the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was born November 9, 1948 in Cobden, the daughter of Walter and Lola (Saddler) Wilson. She married Roy Johnson on January 13, 1968 in Alto Pass. Elaine is survived by her loving husband, Roy Johnson of Cobden; three children, Kimberly Marks of Springfield, MO, Roy Scott (Michelle) Johnson of Cobden, Jennifer (Sonny) Gomez of WI; eight grandchildren, Brandon (Kelsey) Ramsey, Dustin (Amy) Ramsey, Taylor Ramsey (fiancé Dennis), Dina Gomez, Emilia and Alec Williamson, Payton Gomez, and Xavier Dominguez; nine great-grandchildren, Jayden, Blake, Mason, Logan and Ellie Ramsey, Martha Gomez, Evanessa, Kingsten, and Adelina Kobilinsky; two sisters, Nancy Schroeder of Chester and Phyllis Vanmeter of Minonk; many nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Bethany Johnson, two brothers, Jim and Bud Wilson; four sisters, Evelyn Gurtis, Jean Ferguson, Shirley Boucher and Barb Smith. Elaine was a beautician for many years. After retirement she delivered flowers for Jan's House of Flowers. She enjoyed flower gardening, watching the hummingbirds and spending time with her family. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 10, 2021 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Pastor Raymond Baggott officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service at noon on Friday, September 10, 2021 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Those attending will be required to wear a mask or face covering.
