Mrs. Lois Eileen Hanson, age 84, went to be with the Lord at 8:40 a.m., Sunday, March 25, 2012 at her home in Anna surrounded by her family. She was born July 6, 1927 in Oblong, Illinois, the son of Dean Stanley and Blanch Rlea Browning Elliott. She married Harry Donald Hanson on June 23, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 1, 2007.Lois is survived by her two sons, Michael (Denise) Hanson of Anna, Jeffrey Lee Hanson of Carbondale; seven grandchildren, Michael Don Hanson, Derek Scott Hanson, Todd Christopher Dean Hanson, Cassandra Kay Hanson, Rebecca Nicole Hanson, Casey Jo Hansen, Keri Elizabeth Hanson; one great-grandchild, Chasie May Hanson; one daughter in law, Paula Hanson; two sisters, Beverly Jane (Don) Gutshall of Wentzville, Missouri and Betty (Jack) Gilbert of Robinson, Illinois; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harry; one son, Gregory Scott Hanson; one brother, Leroy Dean Elliott; four sisters, Joann Elliott, Ramona Kay Williams, Mary Katherine Whisman, and Karen A. Richards. Lois was a member of the Grand Tower Methodist Church and the Otterbein Methodist Church in Robinson, Illinois for many years. She was a member of the Lay Ministry, the Eastern Star and the Mary Martha. The love of her life was her grandchildren; she will be warmly remembered and deeply missed. The family would like to express their appreciation for VNA TIP Hospice for the love and care they showed for Lois and her family.Funeral services for Mrs. Lois Eileen Hanson will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 29, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with William Burke officiating. Interment will be in the Butternut Cemetery in Martinsville, Illinois. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to VNA TIP Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
