Lois Janene (Boone) Morefield

Lois Janene Boone-Morefield, 83, of Alto Pass, died January 3rd, 2023 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Lois was born November 29th, 1939 to Homer and Kathyrn Marks. She was married to James Richard Boone, October 30th, 1959 who preceded her in death on January 25th, 1995. She later married William Morefield on July 30th, 2005, who survives her.

Lois was a homemaker for much of her life, being defined not as a business tycoon or celebrity but as a pillar of her community. Through her tireless work through the First Baptist Church of Alto Pass, she established herself as not just an upstanding and community oriented individual, but as one who truly gave her whole self in service of others. Lois defined herself as someone rich in love and faith-not simply as someone who held great wealth. Her characteristic wit and disarming charm made a friend of everyone she met. Lois's legacy will be defined by love, duty, faith, and above all the relentless belief that it will be better in the morning.

Lois is survived by her husband, four children, nine grandchildren, three great-children, her brother, nieces and nephews, and many friends. She will be deeply missed. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, brother, and her first husband.

Lois was laid to rest on January 6th, 2023 in the Alto Pass Cemetery.
