Lloyd Leonard Vines Jr.

Mr. Lloyd Leonard Vines Jr., age 72 of Anna, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family at 10:27 p.m. Sunday, July 17, 2016. He was born August 1, 1943 in Villa Ridge, the son of Lloyd Leonard Sr. and Edna (Landis) Vines. He married Cindy Davis in 1963 in South Elgin. Lloyd is survived by his adoring wife, Cindy Vines of Anna; son, John (Anne) Vines of Defiance, MO; one daughter, Christina (Edward) Archuleta of Carr CO.; four grandchildren, Luke Vines, Natalie Vines, Claire Vines and Amalia Archuleta; two brothers, Donald (Bonnie) Vines of Cobden, Jim (Shirley) Vines of Anna; one sister, Virginia Adams of Anna; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Linda Hopp, Joyce Barnhart, infant sister, Jean Marie Vines; one niece, Lisa Adams and one nephew, Bryan Hopp. Lloyd proudly served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam. He worked many years as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of Local 318 Operating Engineers. He was a builder of things and relationships. He was kind, gentle and possessed a quiet strength, this was a strength that his family grew to depend on. He was known to his grandchildren as, Grampy, Gramps and Grandpa. He loved to go camping, and spend time with his family and grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Lloyd Leonard Vines Jr. will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery in Lick Creek. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post 3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honor Team of Marion. Friends may call from 6 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
