Linda Lamer

Linda Lamer, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at the age of 87. Born on April 3, 1939 in Logan County, West Virginia, she lived a life filled with love, kindness, strength, and devotion to family.

Throughout her life, Linda was known for her kind heart, generosity, faith, dedication to family and friends, was a meticulous housekeeper and kept Final Net Hairspray (lovingly called Final Glue by her family) in business throughout many years. She touched the lives of many through family traditions, friendships, acts of kindness, and engaging in church activities. Her legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to share in her life.

Linda is survived by her daughters, Julie (Kelly) O'Nan of Henderson, KY, Angela Lamer of Bowling Green, KY, and Katherine (Ryan) Smith of Goldsboro, NC; grandchildren, Reece (Elizabeth) O'Nan of Hendeson, KY, Myles (Abby) Lamer of Bowling Green, KY, Patrick Smith of Goldsboro, NC and Tanner (Cassie) Smith of Lillington, NC; great-grandchildren, Oliver O’Nan, Brooks O’Nan, and Waylon Lamer; sister, Carolyn (Allen) Seibert of Madisonville, KY; brother-in-law, Bud Pearson of Cobden, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Jean Blankenship, husband Robert Vaughn Lamer, sister and brother-in-law Jane and Garland Springer, and sister Ann Whitledge, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sue Ella and Wallace Rich, and sister-in-law Barbara Lee Pearson.

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Linda’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the Cobden Cemetery located at 521 North Appleknocker Drive, Cobden, Illinois beginning 12:00pm. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden is in charge of arrangements.

Though she will be deeply missed, Linda’s memory will forever remain a source of love, comfort, and inspiration.
