Lillian Edna Wright passed away at her daughter Linda's home in Tucson, AZ on May 12, 2024 at the age of 93 in her sleep from heart failure.
She will be remembered by her family and friends for her incredible kindness, extreme generosity, strength, and will to get things done. To her, nothing was impossible.
She was one of nine girls and two boys and born to Ray and Stella May Slone in Rolla, MO on February 2, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; her husband, James of 77 years of marriage; daughter, Donna, and son-in-law, Lloyd Moyers, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Moyers; grandchildren, Kelly (Dawn) Smith, Cari (Scott) Madson, and Clint (Beth) Moyers; five great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She and her family moved to Elgin in 1974. She secured a position at Chicago Rawhide Manufacturing as an inspector in the plant. She was then promoted to supervisor. When she retired after being employed for 36 years at Rawhide, she was the manager over three different departments and reported directly the president of the company.
She thoroughly enjoyed getting all of her brothers and sisters and their families together for a reunion annually. She enjoyed antique hunting and traveling with her husband to Las Vegas, Canada, Florida, and California. They also made a couple trips to Germany and Europe. She was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan.
Lillian will be buried per her request in the same grave with her husband and beside her daughter, Donna, in the Jonesboro Cemetery in Jonesboro, Illinois on June 21st , with a graveside service at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a pet society of your choice or any other charitable organization.
