Leteisha Genele Pugh

Ms. Leteisha Genele Pugh, age 25 of Anna, died at 1:15 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2014 at her home in Anna after a long battle with cancer. She fought until the end. She was born March 13, 1989 in Carbondale. Leteisha is survived by her son, Eli Huff of Anna; parents, Michele Jo (Kevin) Starr of Anna; five sisters, Leneisha Pugh, Makaila Smith, Ashley Starr, Haley Starr all of Anna, Amy Dentmon of Carbondale; two brothers, Christopher Pugh of Carbondale, Kevin L. Jr. (Camelia) Starr of Miramar, FL; grandparents, Nash Johnson of Carbondale, Michael (Barbara) Johnson of Anna, Charlie Pugh Sr. of Decatur, IL, Sue Starr of Jonesboro; uncles, Scott (Chris) Johnson of Carbondale, Jeff (Linda) Starr of Anna, Ray Pugh, David Barron of St. Paul, MN, Bruce Barron of San Diego, CA; one aunt, Mary (Terrance) Lyes of Carbondale; a host of nieces, nephews and special friends, Jennifer Johnson, Tamico Terrell, Gayle Mercer, Jessica LeClair and all of the other cancer family and friends she gained during her journey. She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack Starr and Helen Pugh; great grandparents, Mary and Chester Johnson; Mattie and Clyde Williams, Annie and William Parker; one uncle, James Pugh; one cousin, Chad Michael Rushing. Leteisha was a dedicated mother to her son, and dearly loved spending time with all her family and friends. She is my daughter, my friend, my hero. She showed everyone how strong she really was and was a hero to a lot of people. Funeral services for Ms. Leteisha Genele Pugh will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Jeff Starr officiating. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Murphysboro. Friends may call after 11:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. In lieu of flowers the preferred form of remembrance is memorial to contributions to her son, Eli Huff. Memorials may be made at the Anna State Bank or the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
