Leon "Lee" James Dodd

Mr. Leon "Lee" James Dodd, age 86, of Anna, died at 9:50 a.m. Thursday, December 4, 2014 in the Illinois Veteran's Home in Anna. He was born December 28, 1927 in Dongola, the son of Leland Oaks and Edith Eddleman Dodd. Lee is survived by his nephew, Terry (Sharon) Grissom of Anna; great nephew, Terry Allen (Stefanie) Grissom of Carrier Mills; great niece, Angela (Rick) Johnson of Anna; five great-great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gail Grissom; two brothers, Joe and Mark Dodd. Lee had a strong Christian Faith. He proudly served his country in the Army Air Force during WWII. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Leon "Lee" James Dodd will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2014 in the Dongola American Legion Cemetery. Interment will be in the Dongola American Legion Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Mixen officiating. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Illinois Army National Guard Military Honors Team in Marion. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carmi Baptist Children's Home. Envelopes will be available at the Cemetery and at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
