Lela Marie Peterman

Mrs. Lela M. Peterman, age 85 of Anna, formerly of Cobden, died at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Union County Hospital in Anna. She was born June 30, 1925 in Anna, the daughter of Willie Larken and Grace Belle (Dunn) Miles. She married Roscoe Peterman in 1945 in Cobden. He preceded her in death on February 15, 1967.Lela is survived by two sons, Roger (Carolyn) Peterman of Greenwood, IN., Willie (Phyllis) Peterman of Topeka, KS.; one daughter Melinda (Kent) Young of Anna; five grandchildren, Keith (Amanda) Peterman, Tonya (Jeff) Monnier, David (Melinda) Peterman, Joshua and Jacob Stamp; two step-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Samuel Young; four great-grandchildren, Grant and Erin Monnier, Brooke and Blake Peterman; one sister, Mary McGowen of Anna; one brother Billy Miles of St. Louis, MO., other relatives and many friends. Lela was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roscoe; one brother, Roy Miles; and one sister, Beverly Walker. Lela was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cobden for many years. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Funeral services for Mrs. Lela M. Peterman will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. David Peterman and Rev. Randy Carstens officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M. Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
