Lela Mae Messamore

Mrs. Mae Messamore, age 97 of Anna, died at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Jonesboro Rehab and Care Center. She was born October 25, 1913 in Alto Pass, IL the daughter of Louie and Lucille Casey. She was married to Clovis E. "Dick" Messamore, he preceded her in death in 1972.Mae is survived by three grandchildren, Donnie (Dena) Messamore, Dave (Chris) Messamore and John (Carol) Messamore all of Anna; six great grandchildren, Amber Gray of Scott City, MO, Donna Messamore of Anna, Devon Strohmeyer and Brandon Matthews both of Cape Girardeau, MO, Kaitlynn and Kelly Messamore both of Anna; four great-great grandchildren, Christopher and Chloe Gray, Jason Messamore and Drake Strohmeyer; one daughter in law, Nancy Fox of Anna; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; one son, Wayne Messamore; three brothers and two sisters. Mae was a member of the Anna First Baptist Church. She retired from the Florsheim Shoe Company after many years. Mae will be dearly missed by all. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Lela Mae Messamore will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 12, 2011 at the Alto Pass Cemetery with Bro Joe Aldridge officiating. Interment will be in the Alto Pass Cemetery. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the activity fund at the Jonesboro Rehab and Care Center. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
