Lawrence Woods

Lawrence Woods, age 86 of Buncombe, died at 5:40 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 in Integrity Healthcare of Anna. He was born May 26, 1932 in Detroit, MI son of Lawrence and Lois Martha (Yates) Woods. He married Martha Ann Arnold. Lawrence is survived by his son, Lawrence "Larry" Woods of Kelso, MO; two grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Ray (Stella) Woods of Elizabethtown, Harold Woods of Golconda, Carl (Linda) Woods of Anna, Kenneth (Carol) Woods of Chaffee, MO, Gene (Katherine) Woods and Glenn (Janet) Woods all of Elgin; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Martha Ann; daughter, Irene Marshall; brother, Don Woods; sisters, Faye Jaco and Janet Bowers; two infant siblings. Lawrence enjoyed his church and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church of Anna. His passion was farming and you rarely saw him without his cowboy hat on. He enjoyed a cigar in the evening sitting on the porch. Funeral services for Lawrence Woods will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 1:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Children's Miracle Network. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
