Lawrence L. Quertermous

Mr. Lawrence L. Quertermous, 86, of Cobden, died at 5:15 A.M., Saturday, September 11, 2010 at his home. He was born November 26, 1923 in Charleston, MO, the son of John R. and Mabel Johnson Quertermous. He married Minnie Pearl Sands on September 25, 1944 in Charleston, MO.Lawrence is survived by his wife, Minnie Pearl Quertermous of Cobden; 2 children, Sandy (Gary) Hartline of Cobden and Joe Quertermous of Cobden; 4 grandchildren, Larry Joe (Becky) Quertermous, Mike (Jennifer) Quertermous, Darrel (Terri) Hartline, and Darla (James) Peterman; 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John Quertermous; and a grandson, Tom Quertermous.Lawrence was a wonderful husband and very loving father and grandfather. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of WWII.Funeral services for Mr. Lawrence L. Quertermous will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Interment will be in the Cobden Cemetery with military honors at the graveside by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and the Illinois National Guard Honor Team. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday evening, September 13, 2010 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
