Lawanda Mae Hubbs, age 79 of Anna, died Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. She was born July 16, 1943 in Anna, the daughter of Paul and Ellen (Coleman) Turner. She married Harold Hubbs on November 23, 1983.
Lawanda is survived by her loving husband, Harold Hubbs; children, Laurie Van Buren, Steve Hargrave, Melissa Meskenas, Tim (Angie) Hargrave; grandchildren, William (Jenny) Meskenas, Joseph Van Buren, Bryan (Chelsie) Meskenas, Chase (Miranda) Hargrave, Tyler Van Buren, Jacy Hargrave; great-grandchildren, Cooper Hargrave, Lettie, Tyler and Lainey Meskenas; siblings, Terry (Carolyn) Turner, Lowell (Linda) Turner, Danny Turner, Neta (Terry) Mull, Margie (Roger) Sheffer, Patsy (Doug) Bridgeman, Vickie (Du Wayne) Glasco; sister in law, Pauline Turner; numerous nieces and nephews; step-children, Donna Dexter, Sheryl Shelton, Steve (Karen) Hubbs; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great grandchild; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Rodney Turner.
Lawanda was a member of the United Missionary Baptist Church in Lick Creek for many years. She enjoyed sewing and most of all loved her family more than anything.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 2, 2022 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Ken Wilson officiating. Interment will be in the Friendship Cemetery in Dongola. Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, October 1, 2022 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
