Lavada Louise Pearson Baggott Simpson

Mrs. Lavada Louise Pearson Baggott Simpson, age 72 of Olmsted, died at 12:15 a.m. Monday, June 9, 2014 at her home. She was born November 3, 1941 in Jonesboro, the daughter of Robert Harold and Charlotte Louise Irwin Pearson. She married Raymond Baggott and later she married Lucine "Andy" Simpson on November 4, 2003. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2014. Lavada is survived by her daughters, Regina Baggott of Olmsted, Rebecca (Scott) Johnson of Cobden; one son, Ray (Lori) Baggott of Du Quoin, IL; six grandchildren, Amber Baggott, Virginia Baggott, Sarah (Eric) Beggs, Allen Richards, Sarina Lyerla, Alex Baggott; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Brenda) Pearson of Mt. Vernon; two sisters, Patsy (Lester) Hartline of Cobden, Laura (Bobby) Qualls of Metropolis; first husband, Raymond Baggott of Du Quoin; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Lucien "Andy" Simpson; one son, Robert Lane Baggott; and one sister, Linda Randolph. Lavada was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Cobden. She worked a registered nurse with geriatric patients in various nursing homes in Southern Illinois; but she was most passionate about all the years she spent serving her Lord as a preacher's wife. Funeral services for Mrs. Lavada Louise Pearson Baggott Simpson will be at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Rev. Clifton Lingle officiating. Interment will be in the Kelly Cemetery in Cobden. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden.
