Larry Gene Rosson

Larry Gene Rosson, age 69 of Jonesboro, died at 2:48 am, Wednesday, December 1, 2010 surrounded by his family at Union County hospital in Anna. He was born on November 1, 1941 in Anna, the son of Harry and Helen (McMillion) Rosson. Larry was a member of the Lockard Chapel Baptist Church. He worked as a construction foreman for Vincent Construction Company for over 30 years. He also was the Superintendant for the city of Jonesboro for ten years and was a 50 year member of the Laborers International Union of North America Laborers Local #773.Survivors include two children, Dawna (David) Gregge of Jonesboro, and Lt. Col. Steven (Johanna) Rosson of Fort Hood, TX; five grandchildren, Rachel (Bob) Taylor, Justin Gregge, Scott, Joshua and William Rosson; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Noah Taylor; three brothers, Harry Dwain Rosson of Harvard, IL, Kenneth (Annie) Rosson of Jonesboro, and Phillip Rosson of Port Orange, FL; three sisters, Patricia Smith of Normal, IL, Shelby (John) Pickel of Jonesboro, Nancy Young of Effingham, other relatives and many friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Larya Sue Rosson.Funeral services for Mr. Larry Gene Rosson will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 10:00 am at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Jack Richardson officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, December 3 from 5 until 8:00 pm. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery.
