Larry Edward Dirden

Larry Edward Dirden, age 68 of Carbondale, formerly of Union County, died at 2:37 a.m. Sunday, August 12, 2018 in the Integrity Healthcare of Carbondale. He was born August 6, 1950 in Anna, the son of Jesse Edward and Mary Helen (Harvel) Dirden. He married Janice Crane, and she preceded him in death in April of 2010. Larry is survived by his daughter, Robin (Randy) Smith of Calvert City, KY, son, Shannon Dirden of Granite City; grandchildren, Cody Boner, Jarrett Mull, Dylan Cano and Brianna Dirden; four great grandchildren; one brother, Lester (Christine) Dirden of Jonesboro; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Janice Dirden; three brothers, Lonnie Harvel, Ricky Dirden and Perry Dirden. Larry worked as an LPN for many years at Jackson County Nursing home until his retirement.According to his wishes, he will be cremated and burial will be at a later date.
