Kermett W. Ayers, 81, of Anna, died at 12:50 A.M., Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at his home. He was born October 4, 1929 in Tishomingo, MS the son of Willie Paul and Mary Hamilton Ayers. He married Betty Joan Basler on July 3, 1952 in Cobden.Kermett is survived by his wife, Joan Ayers of Anna; 2 children, Timothy Daryl (Mary) Ayers of Huntsville AL and Christopher Lee Ayers of Tuscaloosa, AL; 1 grandchild, Joshua Nathaniel (Kimberly) Ayers of Huntsville, AL; 1 sister, Bobbie Rossman of Joliet, IL; and 1 brother, Hoyle Ayers of Balcom, IL; other relatives & many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Opal Ashley; and 2 brothers, Darris Ayers and Charles Ayers.Kermett was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna. He retired from Choate Mental Health and Developmental Center after 30 years of service and was a past President of the Credit Union at the Center. Funeral services for Mr. Kermett W. Ayers will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Interment will be in the Casper Cemetery near Anna with military honors at the grave by Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the VFW in Anna and Illinois National Guard Honor Team in Marion. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday evening at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
