Mr. Kenton James Barrick, age 25 of Carbondale, formerly of Anna, died at 3:58 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013 in Carbondale. He was born April 15, 1988 in Carbondale, the son of Kenneth James Barrick and Susan Kroeger Farner. Kenton is survived by his mother, Susan L. (Steve) Farner of Marion; his father, Kenneth James (Cheryl) Barrick of Mackinaw, IL; twin sister, Carly Barrick of Marion; one brother, Chris (Jill) Treece of Anna; four step sisters, Amber (Brian) Mitchell of Mackinaw, Ashley Krejci of Fairview Heights, Shae Swan and Shara Sollers both of Marion; two step brothers, Adam Krejci of Mackinaw and Josh Farner of Marion; maternal grandparents, Henry "Buck" (Carol) Kroeger of Anna; paternal grandparents, Jim (Charlotte) Barrick of Mackinaw; aunts; uncles; nieces and nephews; loving girlfriend, Courtney Hamilton of Carbondale; other relatives and many friends. Kenton was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Anna and the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hopedale, IL. He worked as a bartender at the Pinch Penny Pub in Carbondale and as the Assistant Property Manager for the Quads in Carbondale. During high school Kenton enjoyed playing football and band at Dee-Mack in Mackinaw. He would have been entering his senior year at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, studying computer science. Kenton was charismatic, energetic and loved entertaining his friends and family. He was a friend to everyone; he will live forever in the heart of all who knew him. Visitation services for Mr. Kenton James Barrick will be from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Burial will be in the Mackinaw Township Cemetery in Mackinaw, IL on Saturday, June 22, 2013. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kenton Barrick Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
