Kenneth Alfred "Al" Lingle

    Kenneth Alfred “Al” Lingle, was born on June 27, 1944 at the Hale-Willard Hospital in Anna, to Carl Alfred and Esther Grace (Crumbley) Lingle. He passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 at Carbondale Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy battle with congestive heart failure. His loved ones were with him.

    Al married Marilyn Jones on March 21, 1964 in Mill Creek, Illinois. They lived their entire life in Jonesboro. He was a wonderful father to his two daughters and the world’s best grandpa to his five grandchildren. He loved his daughters, but it was nothing compared to how much he loved his grandchildren.

    Al started his working career at Walter Hardware in Anna, then worked at Union County Hospital for over two decades and retired from Franklin County Hospital. He was a talented “mister fix-it” and could fix almost anything. He really loved electronics. After 61-years of marriage, his wife still says he is a good man, she wanted more time with him.

    Al is survived by his wife Marilyn (Jones) Lingle; daughters Angela (Greg) Madura and Melissa Lingle; grandchildren Anna and Erin Madura, Ella, Grant, and Amelia Lingle. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Bettie June (Lingle) Lentz. He was a much-loved son-in-law of Loren and Mabel Jones.
