Kenneth Lane Lacy, 77 of Jonesboro, entered Heaven's gates as a result of Covid pneumonia at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Southeast Missouri Hospital with his family by his side. He was born on January 25, 1944 in Anna the son of Ammon "Dub" and Mary (Wilson) Lacy. He married Charlotte Frick on November 10, 1961. This union produced two children, Carter (Roni) Lacy and Rhonda (Rodney) Tweedy; eight grandchildren, Cara Smith, Jamia (Justin) Marks, Paige Lacy, Austin, Logan, Cameron, Ashlin and Madison Tweedy and seven great-grandchildren. Kenneth married Robin Miller in Harvard, Illinois on January 16, 1982. They came south to make their home in Jonesboro with their son, Kyle Aaron Lacy, who resides in Brooklyn, New York. He is survived by his wife, children and grandchildren; one brother, Rodney Lacy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ammon "Gene" Lacy and two sisters-in-law, Wilma Cook Lacy and Darlene Davis Lacy. Kenneth enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was a self-employed carpenter. When he returned to Union County, he spearheaded the construction of Faith Assembly Church in Wolf Lake. Through the years, he attended several area churches, returning to Faith Assembly as a board member before his death. He will be missed by his family, friends and the coffee boys at the Dixie in Jonesboro. A celebration of Kenneth's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Faith Assembly Church in Wolf Lake with Ron Thorn officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the compassionate care unit at Southeast Missouri Hospital or Southeast Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.
