Kenneth E. Smith

Mr. Kenneth E. Smith, age 79 of Anna, died at 10:49 a.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016 in the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born February 9, 1936 in Cypress the son of Melvin and Estella (Wallace) Smith. He married Lois (Sheffer) Hase on December 5, 1972 in Jonesboro. Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Lois Smith of Anna; step-daughter, Sandy (Rockie) Brown of Milan, TN; two grandchildren, Cody and Becca Brown; two brothers, Wendell Smith of Port Aransas, TX, and Bill (Janice) Smith of Goreville; one sister, Mary Alice Ream of Brainerd, MN; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister and brother in law, Eula and Don Sheffer; and one brother, Richard Smith. Kenneth was of the Baptist faith. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Kenneth retired as a Master Sergeant after twenty years of service in the Air Force, serving during Vietnam. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeant Association, the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the American Legion. He worked as a service manager at Pearl Motors in Anna, Coad Chevrolet, Union County Motors and Cache River Chevrolet. In his later years he taught Electronics at Shawnee Community College Kenneth loved spending time with his family and friends, he will be dearly missed by everyone. Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth E. Smith will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Dee Armes officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Scott Air Force Base Honor Guard. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
