Kenneth Eugene Colson

Kenneth Eugene Colson, age 71 of Cobden, died at 7:10 pm, Friday, June 29, 2012 at the Jonesboro Healthcare and Rehab Center. He was born on May 10, 1941 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, the son of Lonnie and Opal Irene (Crow) Colson. Kenneth married Carol Marie Davis on October 29, 1962 in Murphysboro and she preceded him in death on April 11, 2010. Kenneth is survived by a daughter, Della (Danny) Nance of Cobden; two grandchildren, Nathan Nance of Anna and Samantha (Joseph) Etherton of Cobden; one great-grandson, Jonah Etherton; two brothers, Henry (Ethel) Colson of Makanda and Billy Joe Colson of Marion; two sisters, Bertha May Falk of Herrin and Pearl Jean Phillips of Arkansas. He was preceded by his parents; his wife, Carol; one daughter, Laura Colson Nance and a brother, Lonnie Melvin Colson. Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Eugene Colson will be conducted at 11:00 am, Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at the Makanda Baptist Church with Rev. Cliff Waller officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda. Friends may call on Monday, July 2 from 6 until 8:00 pm at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden and also on Tuesday, July 3 after 10:00 am at the Makanda Baptist Church.
