Kathern Elizabeth "Kathy" Dillow

    Kathern E. “Kathy” Dillow, age 82 of Jonesboro, passed away Friday, January 9, 2026 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. She was born on October 9, 1943 in Anna, the daughter of Sam and Alice (Newton) Ellis. She married Gene Dillow on February 20, 1965.

    Kathy is survived by her husband, Gene Dillow; children, Lynda Michelle "Shelly" Dillow (Michael Jordan), Patrick Lane Dillow and Gary Eugene Dillow; granddaughter, Cali Dillow; great-grandchildren, Avery Golliher and Stevie Kay Basler; brothers, Ronald Ellis, Everett “Mike” (Janet) Ellis and Jim (Linda) Ellis; sister-in-law, Patricia Ann (Larry) McIntosh; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles Ellis and sister-in-law, Maxine Ellis.

    Kathy retired from Short Enterprises in Anna after 26 years. For many years, she was a member of the University of Illinois Home Extension in Anna. She enjoyed painting, bowling, shopping and traveling. Most of all, she loved her family and spending time with them. She will be missed.

    Graveside funeral services for Kathy Dillow will be held at 11:30 am Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the Jonesboro Cemetery with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will follow. Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will take place from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Kornthal Church. Envelopes will be available at the graveside and at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home.
