Katharine Mendenhall - Sinn, age 92 of Anna, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at her home. She was born January 30, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA the daughter of Donald Elliot and Helen (McFarland) Woodbridge. She married John Howard Mendenhall he preceded her in death in 2005. Later she was married for seventeen years to Donald Sinn before his death in 2016. Katharine is survived by her children, Walter Mendenhall, Susan Linher, Barbara Clark, John Mendenhall and Philip Mendenhall; other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her two husbands; parents; siblings, Elsa Kistler, Dudly Woodbridge, Elliot Woodbridge and Edith McNair. Katharine worked many years for the Girl Scouts of America and traveled extensively living in many different states throughout the United States. She retired at the age of 70 from working out of the National Headquarters in New York City. She loved to go fishing, canoeing and camping, she even backpacked over 500 miles on the Appalachian Trail. Teaching art and playing piano were some of her many talents, along with creating beautiful flower gardens wherever she lived. One of her most proud achievements was helping to create the parent and child center in Mt. Carmel, in which it received national recognition and set the standards for a national program.Services will be available at a later date for immediate family and friends.
