Karen Hartsock

Mrs. Karen Hartsock, age 66, of Cobden died at 2:50 a.m., Thursday, October 12, 2017 at her home. She was born January 31, 1951 in Eugene, OR the daughter of Clifford Carmen and Peggy (Hiestand) Porter. She married Danny Hartsock on October 24, 1969 in Cobden. She is survived by her loving husband, Danny Hartsock of Cobden; daughter, Yvonne (Danny) Windings of Cobden; son, Eugene (Emily) Hartsock of Anna; twelve grandchildren, Kaylee, Bradley, Sydney, Lindsey Windings, Allison (Dylan) McCann, Ashley Hartsock, Sophie Trammel, Jon, Sam, Gabbi, Francesca and Lydia Derossett; three great grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Carmen (Howard) Couch of La Pine, OR, Christine Broadway of Paducah, KY, Sheila Barce of Portland, OR; one brother, Robert Porter of Portland, OR; other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandchild, Alexis Hartsock; and brother-in-law, George Broadway. Karen was a member of the Immanuel Praise & Worship Center of Cobden. After she graduated from nursing school as an LPN she worked at the Memorial Hospital of Carbondale and later she went on to work with SIU Family Practice before retiring. Karen loved going camping with her family and working in her flower garden, she was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services for Karen Hartsock will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 in the Immanuel Praise and Worship Center in Cobden with George Miller officiating. Interment will be in Cobden Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church. Envelopes will be available at the church and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
