"Junior" John E Clark, Jr.

"Junior" John E. Clark, Jr., age 54 of Cobden, died Friday, July 7, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family and friends. He was born on June 24, 1969 in Anna, the son of John E. Clark, Sr. and Linda (Verbeck) Clark. He married Tammy Freyenberger on September 8, 1991 in Carterville.

Junior is survived by his wife, Tammy Clark of Cobden; daughter, Sarah (Caleb) Burton of Tamms; grandchildren, Camie Jo Clark-Blake, Eyan Burton and Trapper Burton; sister, Lisa (Shane) Murray of Anna; brother-in-law, Billy (Wanda) Freyenberger of Herrin; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Danny and Karen Freyenberger of Cobden; great friends, Jeff (Michelle) Jackson, Brian (Tammy) Jackson, Mike (Margie) Stroehlein, Richard (Jane) Rose, Steve (Linda) Volz and Darrell Bellee; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and countless other friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Along with his father, Junior owned and operated Clark & Sons Salvage Company in Cobden. He was an active member of So-Co, Southern County Car Club and FBI, Fat Boys of Illinois Car Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, demolition derbies and traveling. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

For a time of remembrance, friends of "Junior", John Clark, may gather from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
