June Christ

Mrs. June Christ, age 96 of Cobden, died at 5:43 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 in the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, MO. She was born February 7, 1919 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of Willoughby and Ethel Kibler Stephenson. She married Frank P. Christ on October 24, 1936 in Waterloo. He preceded her in death on November 14, 1998. June is survived by her son, David (Pamela) Christ of Cobden; four grandchildren, Jerry Christ Jr., Laura Kelly, David Christ Jr., and Michelle Hayden; step-grandson, Mikey Recker; eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Hurley of Denver, CO; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank P. Christ; one son, Jerry Christ; one daughter, Diana Christ; and one grandson, Ronnie Christ. June received numerous awards from the American Red Cross for blood donations over the years, and was a member of the Gallon Club. She was a generous woman, who loved to cook and garden. Graveside funeral services for Mrs. June Christ will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2015 in the Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Fairview Heights, IL. Friends may call from 5 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Memorial contributions may be made to P.A.W.S.
