June K. Bowen

Mrs. June K. Bowen, age 90 of Jonesboro, died at 9:20 pm, Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at her home in Jonesboro. She was born on February 17, 1923 in Union County, the daughter of Elvis L. and Maude (Kelley) Knupp. June married Raymond Bowen on September 7, 1946 in Jonesboro. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1994. June is survived by two special nieces and their families, Dishona (Wesley) Wright and Linda Webb, all of Anna; one great-nephew, Brandon Wright of Champaign; one great-niece, Casie (Bob) Thomas of Port Orange, FL; great-great-nephew, Jason Thomas; two sisters-In-law, Louise Dillow of Anna and Francis Lentz of Bradley, IL; one brother in law, Ken Kohler of Anna; one cousin, Leona Treece of Paducah; special friend and caregiver, Barb Lair; other nieces and nephews; relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Raymond Bowen. June became a member of the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro in April of 1952. She loved working with the L. L. L.; and the Seniors in the Grow Group and was very passionate about helping with the church newsletter. June was blessed with a loving church family and she will be dearly missed by all. June worked in the Florsheim Shoe Factory in Anna from 1941 to 1959 before opening her own beauty salon in her home, which she operated for twenty seven years. Funeral services for Mrs. June K. Bowen will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday October 12, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with the Rev. Joe Aldridge officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. and until the service hour at 12:00 noon on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Jonesboro. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
