Mrs. Joyce O. Verble, age 83 of Anna, died at sunrise, surrounded by her family at home on Friday, March 7, 2014. She was born December 3, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of William Ray and Opal Minnie Wright Davis. She married Loel Verble Jr. on December 11, 1948. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Joyce is survived by her husband, Loel Verble Jr. of Anna; two daughters, Charla Verble Edmonds and husband Dennis of Manchester, MO, Debbie Treece and Husband David of Gilman, IL; three grandchildren, David Edmonds of Manchester, Mo, Laura Cox and husband Shaun of O'Fallon, MO and Sarah Treece of Dallas, TX.; great grandchildren, Jade Edmonds of Lake Wood Ranch, FL. and Annabelle Cox of O'Fallon, MO; many close sister and brother in laws, nieces and nephews; other relatives and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Bette Griffith; two brothers, William Davis Jr and Chuck Davis. Joyce graduated from AJCHS with the class of 1948. She was an active member of the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Anna since 1959. Joyce was a homemaker, loving mother and wife and active in numerous activities in the community. The most important things in Joyce's life were her faith in God and her love of family and friends. Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce O. Verble will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 in the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Anna with Rev. Jonathan Whitley officiating. Interment will be in the Anna City Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2014 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to Mid-America Teen Challenge or the First Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Anna. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna and at the church.
