Joyce Ann Meisenheimer Blandford

Joyce Ann Meisenheimer Blandford, age 82 of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at Southeast Health in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She was born April 20, 1939 in Reynoldsville, the daughter of Henry and Francis (Wilson) Meisenheimer. Joyce graduated Anna Jonesboro High School Class of 1957. She then married Kenneth Blandford on October 6, 1957 in Jonesboro. To this union was born Dawna and Todd and the family lived in Jonesboro. Joyce worked for the Union County Press for many years and then worked for the General Assistance Office of Union County. She also worked many years for the Union County Circuit Clerk and later retired from the County Clerks office. Her greatest joy was following her children to their athletic events during their high school careers and then watching her grandson, Brandon, during his high school years. Joyce had a great love of family and friends and her special "Club Girls", lifelong card playing ladies. Joyce was a loyal and loving friend who never met a stranger and made life long friends on the bus tours she was able to take in her latter years. Joyce's pride and joy for the last 3 years was her great-granddaughter, Leila who brought her much joy and lightness to her life. Joyce is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth Blandford of Jonesboro; daughter, Dawna (Cory) Miller of Anna; son, Todd (Gloria) Blandford of Marion; grandson, Brandon Miller of Anna; great-granddaughter, Leila Miller of Anna; other relatives and many, many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents. Graveside funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 23, 2021 at the Jonesboro Cemetery. Interment will immediately follow. Those attending are strongly encouraged to wear a mask and bring a lawn chair. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, This Able Veteran, or the American Kidney Association. Envelopes will be available at the cemetery and the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
