Joseph Hank Lyerla

Joseph Hank Lyerla, age 54 of Anna, died Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was born on February 20, 1971 in Carbondale, the son of Joe and Velma (Brim) Lyerla.

Hank is survived by his children, Dylan Lyerla, Austin Lyerla, Kassidy (Kenneth) Swink and Wyatt Lyerla (Kelcie Kobel); grandchildren, Wrenleigh Lyerla, Aubrie and Hunter Swink and Liam and Colby Lyerla; sister, Carla and his dog, Willow. He was preceded in death by his parents and the mother of his children, Tina Tate.

Hank enjoyed the peace and purpose found by spending time outdoors, whether camping, fishing or just sitting and taking in the serenity of nature. He was spontaneous and fun-loving. His greatest love was his family. His legacy will live on through his strength, values and the love of his children and the lifetime of memories they created.

A celebration of the life of Hank Lyerla will be at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. and until the service at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home to assist the family with final expenses. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
