Joseph D. "Joe" Wilson

Joseph D. "Joe" Wilson, age 73 of Ware, died tragically on January 2, 2023 as the result of an automobile accident. Joe and his twin brother Gerald were born August 8, 1949 in Anna to Earl and Edith (Rosenthal) Wilson.

Joe is survived by his brother, Gerald (Sue) Wilson of Green Valley, Arizona; his daughter, Valerie (Drew) Martin of Pacific, Missouri; his son, Joshua of Ware; grandchildren, Autumn, Summer, Larry and Kylo, all of Pacific, Missouri; nephews, Douglas Adams of Loganville, Georgia and Jeremy Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; close friends, Mike and Anita Stone of Anna and James Thornton of Buncombe. Joe was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Thomas Wilson and a sister, Earlene Adams.

After graduating from Shawnee High School in 1967, Joe attended Bailey Technical School in St. Louis where he studied auto and diesel mechanics. He owned and operated Wilson's Marine Service in Ware for approximately 15 years.

A memorial gathering for Joe Wilson will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
