Joseph Hogan, born February 24, 1987, died November 11, 2025. Joseph was a gentle giant always willing to lend a hand. He helped so very much with his father and mother's endeavors throughout the years. From managing The Old Feed Store event center in Cobden, Illinois to building The Cabin at Mt. Glen and dozens more rehab projects over the years. He especially enjoyed his time cooking for the Good Samaritan House in Carbondale, Illinois and working with AmeriCorp in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. He found joy in assisting a family friend through their recovery from Guillain Barre Syndrome.
A favorite passion was kayaking and taking photographs at Cedar Lake and Crab Orchard Lake.
Joseph leaves behind his parents, Raymond and Rose Hogan of Cobden, IL; brother, Daniel A. Hogan (Molly Whipple) and nephew, William of Lincoln City, Oregon; grandmother, Mary C. "Kate" Wetstein; aunts and uncles, Dennis Hogan, Michael Hogan, Edith Wetstein, Jo Ann Mayer (late Gerald Hanley), Mary Schaefer (Steve), Mark Wetstein (Julia), Matthew Wetstein (Cindy Osberg), John Wetstein (Vanessia), Paula Corwin (Timothy Kathrein), Ken Wetstein (Carrie), Karen Hogan (late Ronald Hogan); many cousins and special friends, Ben and Nina Maether.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Paul Wetstein; grandfather, Raymond F. Hogan; grandmother, Mary Hogan; uncles, Ronald Hogan, Brian Hogan and Richard Wetstein, and aunt, Ann Hogan.
Joseph will be cremated and a Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Good Samaritan House 701 South Marion Street, Carbondale, Illinois 62901-3707 or your local food pantry. Envelopes will be available at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
