Joseph B. Hardin, age 79, of Cobden, died on Monday, April 1, 2019 in the Integrity Healthcare in Anna. He was born March 3, 1940 in Whitesville, Kentucky. He married, Ruth (Pearson) Tellor in May of 2008 in Cobden. Joseph is survived by his loving wife Ruth Hardin of Cobden; five step-daughters, Marilyn Smith of Cobden, Ruth Fisher of Lebenon, Tennessee, Debbie Rendleman of Elk City, Idaho, Dianne Melcher of Hemphill, Texas, Becky Dressel of Great Falls, Montana; son, Chris Hardin of Houston, Texas; daughter, April Issacson of Chicago; ten step grandchildren; two grandchildren; several step great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends. Joseph honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of The American Legion and the Anna Moose Lodge. He retired from Choate Mental Health Center after many years of service. . He really enjoyed eagle watching and traveling. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2019 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Ed Falgout officiating. Interment will be in the Anna Cemetery. Graveside military rights will be conducted by the Carrol P. Foster Post of the VFW in Anna. Friends may call from 11:30 until the time of service on Friday, April 5, 2019. Memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Veterans Home Activity Fund in Anna. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home.
