Jose Enrique Zavala

Jose Enrique Zavala 20 of Cape Girardeau, MO passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2022. He was born on December 17, 2001 in Carbondale, the son of Crystal(Eastin) Goldsmith.

Jose survived by his parents, Crystal and Mike Goldsmith of Thebes; maternal grandmother, Crystal Cotzajay of Murphysboro;  one sister, Magali Zavala of Kentucky; three brothers, Ronaldo Perez of Anna, Hector Perez of Thebes and Christian Perez of Thebes; one niece Lily May Rose Cummings of Dongola; stepbrothers and stepsister, Mikey Goldsmith of Thebes, Kasey (Rachel) Russell of Minor, MO, Jesse (Autumn) Goldsmith of Cairo; one uncle, Roy Eastin of Jonesboro; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Roy Eastin; his maternal great grandparents, Frank and Delorse Eubanks and his aunt, Kimberly Eastin

Jose graduated from Dongola High school in 2020. At the time of his death, he was employed at Walmart in Cape Girardeau. In his spare time, he loved to play basketball and spend time with family and friends.

Jose left this world to soon, he touched everyone's lives that he met, he will be dearly missed. #forever20

Memorial services for Jose Zavala will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 6, 2023 at Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Pastors Phillip Parker and Clark Short officiating. Interment will follow at Busby Chapel Cemetery near Goreville. Friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service Friday, January 6, 2023 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home to assist Jose's family with his final expenses.
