John "Bill" William Jackson

John "Bill" Jackson, age 97 of Anna, died Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the Illinois Veterans' Home in Anna. He was born May 17, 1927 in Paragould, AR, the son of William Lee and Agnes (Baker) Jackson. He married Pansy Clayton on October 1, 1949, at the Saratoga Methodist Church in Anna. Together they shared 75 years of wonderful memories and laughter.

Bill is survived by his wife, Pansy Jackson of Anna; son, Randy (Joy) Jackson of Montgomery; grandchildren, Ginger (Duane) Bailey, Amanda Smith, Brad Jackson (Nicole Dean), Alex (Lauren) Jackson; ten great-grandchildren, Trevor Smith, Haleigh and Emily Lawrence, Aislynne Smith, Alyvia Lawrence, Savanah and Chesney Smith, Sydney, Peyton and Westin Jackson; one great great-grandchild, Paizley Smith; special friends, Jim and Jan Short, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Judy Kay Smith; grandson, Daric Smith, and brothers, Ken and Chet Jackson.

Bill worked thirty years for Caterpillar in Montgomery as a g-adjuster on the assembly line. He was a lifelong member of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. He and Pansy loved to travel and see new sights. Bill was a hardworking, kind and honest man. He was always the one taking care of everyone's needs; no matter what it was he was there. Most mornings you could find him with his friends sharing stories and a cup of coffee at McDonald's.

Memorial services will be at 12:00 Noon Friday March 21, 2025 at the Rendleman and Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Doug Bridgeman officiating. Interment will be at a later date. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 12:00 Noon Friday, March 21, 2025, at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted at the funeral home by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. and the Illinois Army National Guard Funeral Honors Team. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jackson Family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
