John E. Stewart

Mr. John E. Stewart, age 67 of Cobden, died at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2017 in his home in Cobden. John was born May 21, 1950 in Anna, the son of Charles and Veda (Bryant) Stewart. He married Midge Middleton on November 8, 1991 in Murphysboro. John is survived by his loving wife, Midge Stewart of Cobden; son, Brian (Tina) Stewart of Murphysboro; daughter, Heather Stewart of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson, Adam Stewart; three step-children; nine step-grandchildren; four brothers, Jerry (Bonnie) Holman of Cobden, Charlie (Cheryl) Stewart of Cobden, Roger (Maryann) Stewart of Anna and David (Cheryl) Stewart of Cobden; one sister, Kathie (Ron) Jensen of Marion. John was preceded in death by his parents. John was an avid fisherman, and he attended the Anna First Baptist Church. He worked at the Union County Courthouse for twenty years before retiring. Funeral services for John Stewart will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden with Rev. Les Sinks officiating. Interment will be in the Cobden City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Cobden. Memorial Contributions may be made to Celtic Hospice or Anna First Baptist Church. Memorial Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
