John Harold Rodgers

Mr. John Harold Rodgers, age 81 of Cape Girardeau, MO, formerly of Cobden, died at 12:05 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at his home. He was born June 25, 1935 in Chicago the son of Francis and Loyola (Powers) Rodgers. He married Doris Bigler on December 28, 1957 in Cobden. John is survived by his loving wife, Doris Rodgers of Cape Girardeau, MO; two daughters, Kathy (Bill) Miller of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Claire (Charles) Boone of St. Charles, MO; grandchildren, Beth (Logan) Johnson, Mary McCollough and Eric McCollough; step-grandchildren, Jason, Kedron, Stephanie, Chad and Michael; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Paul Rodgers; sister, Joan Rodgers; and brother, Norman Rodgers. John was a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Air Force. He proudly served his country from 1958 to 1981. Graveside funeral services for Mr. John Harold Rodgers will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 9, 2016 at the St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery in Cobden with Bill Littrell officiating. Interment will be in the St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by the Carroll P. Foster #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Scott Air Force Base Honor Guard. Everyone is asked to go directly to the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be available in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home and at the Cemetery.
