Mr. John L. McCarver, age 76 of Lick Creek, died at 5:00 pm, Sunday October 4, 2015 at the Jonesboro Rehab and Health Care Center. He was born March 12, 1939 in Anna, the son of Bonnie and Ann (Vansil) McCarver. He married Barbara Sadler in August of 1958 in Anna. She preceded him in death on July 2, 2012. John is survived by his two sons, Rick L. McCarver of Colorado Springs, Colorado and David L. (Lana) McCarver of Goreville; three grandchildren, Justin Wingate, John Paul McCarver, and Rick D. McCarver; four great-grandchildren, Landon McCarver, Pacey McCarver, Mason McCarver, and Jackson Wingate. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Barbara McCarver; and one brother, Carl McCarver. John was very active in the community from being a scout leader and a former Lick Creek School Board member. He enjoyed many hobbies; hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding, motorcycle riding and stock car racing. John was not only a business owner and Stihl dealer for over 41 years, but he became a part of many people's family and he was someone you could depend on as a business owner and a friend. Funeral services for Mr. John L. McCarver will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 7, 2015 in the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Dean West officiating. Interment will be in the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. until theservice hour at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Memorial contributions may be made to the Ebenezer Hall Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna.
