Mr. John Gary "Little Deer" Rendleman, age 69 of Wolf Lake, died at 9:01 a.m. Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo. He was born January 24, 1942 in Anna, the son of Robert Howard and Iva Tweedy Rendleman. He married Sherry A. Rhodes on March 5, 1971 in Wolf Lake. Gary is survived by his wife, Sherry Rendleman of Wolf Lake; one daughter, Gretchen L. (Robert) Brodie of Altenburg, MO; one son, Rob Rendleman of Wolf Lake; four grandchildren, Mackenzie, Ashton, Cooper and Jackson; nephews, Tony Rendleman of Murphysboro and John Rendleman of Jonesboro; sister in law, Marjorie Rendleman of Jonesboro; other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Lary Rendleman. Gary was a member of the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He was a graduate of Shawnee High School, class of 1960. Gary was a member of the Jonesboro Masonic Lodge # 111 AF & AM; a life member of the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna; the Union County Soil and Water Conservation District; the Union County Farm Bureau; the Shawnee School District #84 board; he served as president of the Wolf Lake Park District; he also served on the Wolf Lake Sanitary District and he was a board member of the Preston Levy and Drainage District.Funeral services for Mr. John Gary "Little Deer" Rendleman will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna with Rev. Stephanie Voss officiating. Interment will be in the Jonesboro Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside by the Carroll P. Foster Post #3455 of the V.F.W. in Anna and the Military Funeral Honors Team in Marion. Friends may call from 4 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 22, 2011 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Anna. Masonic services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wolf Lake Park or the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church. Envelopes will be available
