Mr. Joe Sharp, age 78 of Cobden, died at 4:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at his home in Cobden. He was born November 18, 1933 in Millcreek, the son of Rando and Della Brimm Sharp. He married Gloria Joann Moad on February 14, 1958 in Perks. Joe is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Gloria Joann Moad Sharp of Cobden; three sons, Terry L. Sharp of Granite City, Harold G. (Kim) Sharp of Cobden, Berry F. (Christine) Sharp of Dongola; six grandchildren, Crystal (Bryan) Pulliam of Carbondale, Andrew Sharp (Kristy Holder) of Carbondale, Melissa (Jason) Peach of Granite City, Amy Jo Sharp (Kevin Beegle) of Mounds, Kristen Apponey of Granite City; one adopted grandchild, Ashly Kaemmerer of Carbondale; six great grandchildren, Brittney, Nathan and Morgan Pulliam, Ryan and Savannah Peach, Haley Holder; one sister, Emma Lou Whittson of Oklahoma; one brother in law, Jesse Moad; four sisters in law, Paula Moad, Billie Hasty, Sally Dickerson and Betty Sharp; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harrel, Paul, and Jack Sharp; two sisters, Rose Thompson, and Izetta Rasnake. Joe worked as a farmer and steel mill worker for many years. He retired from the Florsheim Shoe Company in Anna.Funeral services for Mr. Joe Sharp will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Rev. Ed Falgout officiating. A reading will be presented by Jeff Starr. Interment will be in the St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call after 10:00 a.m., and until the service hour at 12:00 noon Saturday, April 21, 2012 at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois and to the First Baptist Church in Cobden. Envelopes will be available at the Rendleman & Hileman Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
